On Tuesday 2nd May the Depute Provost Mary McNeil officially opened the DVRAP's new charity shop in Douglas. Staff, volunteers, committee members and staff from CADISPA all joined Mary McNeil for the photos. Mary McNeil praised the work of the DVRAP and also underlined how important the role of the volunteers would be in the running of the shop and praised the dedication of all volunteers in the area. The DVRAP have opened the shop because after 8 years of funding they have recognised the need to be more sustainable and by working with CADISPA have seen how other small villages have benefited from a charity shop. All profits raised will go towards DVRAP projects in the community. The shop is now open and is manned by volunteers from the community. Opening times are 10am-2pm, Monday – Friday and 10-12noon on a Saturday.
