Lady Home Hospital
Staff and patients at Lady Home Hospital would like to thank the Rigside Community Choir  and Jim and Tom Gold for providing two very enjoyable evenings of entertainment. We must also say thanks to John Gold for all his work with the outside Christmas tree. Our New Year raffle this year raised £176 and we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who contributed either by buying tickets or donating prizes.

Douglas Water Angling Club
The Douglas Water Angling Club are holding their annual 2013 AGM in the Tavern, Rigside on January 27, 2013 at 1.30pm. Anyone interested in coming along please contact 07850710536 for further info.

Guild
The Guild met for its first meeting of the new year on Monday January 7, at 2pm. The hostesses were M Bannatyne and M Mitchell who led a lesson on the Lord's Prayer by lighting coloured candles and explaining the meaning of every line of the prayer. The next meeting on January 21, is about 'Care and Repair'.

Douglas Valley Church
The minister Rev Robert Cleland led worship on Sunday January 13 and the lesson was read by Jim Fleming. As the minister is on holiday for the next two weeks, anyone who needs the services of a minister is asked to contact Rev Ian Watson at Lesmahagow. This Sunday brings Alan Shearer, a trainee minster to the pulpit.
