Flower Show AGM - The Annual General Meeting of Douglas Horticultural Society will be held in St. Brides Centre on Wednesday 14th November, at 7.30pm. Anyone wishing to come along and support us or give us some new ideas will be made most welcome.

Douglas Heritage Society - There will be a prize bingo on Wednesday November 7, at 7pm in the bowling green. All welcome. Tea ticket's are  £1 and are payable at the door.

Douglas Victoria Bowling Club - The annual social and prize giving evening will take place in the clubhouse on Friday November 9 at 6.30pm for 7pm. Tickets are £10 and the music is by Tom Masters. If you would like to come along for the dance only from 9pm until 1am, there will be a £2 entry fee.

WRI - The monthly meeting took place in St Brides Centre on Wednesday October 24. Mr Colin Frost entertained us with a mixture of music and stories. The competition winners were - 3 scones 1st - J Smith, 2nd - K Greig and 3rd - E Cook and a coaster 1st - E Cook, 2nd - S MacMillan and 3rd - J Shanks.

Douglas Valley Church - On Sunday November 4 as the minister was on holiday, Billy Cruickshank led worship and Jeanette Fleming read the lesson. If anyone would like to give flowers, please contact Mrs Anne Taylor who can also arrange delivery afterwards.  Anyone who needs the services of a minister is asked to contact Mr Cleland. The Christmas Fare takes place on Saturday December 1 from 2pm until 4pm with St. Brides Hall being open from 12 noon to receive donations. This Sunday the service of Remembrance will be celebrated at 10am with uniformed organisations being present.
