TURN IT BACK - BY TURNING BACK YOUR HOME CENTRAL HEATING CONTROL BY AS LITTLE AS ONE DEGREE, WILL USE LESS FUEL, SAVE ON YOUR HEATING BILL AND WILL PUT LESS CARBON FUMES INTO THE ATMOSPHERE.
This also applies, to your water heater...do you really need the water THAT hot ? If not...turn it back.
SAVE WATER - DONT LEAVE THE TAP RUNNING. IT'S THE EASIEST THING TO DO AND IS JUST A CHANGE OF HABIT NOT LIFE STYLE.
So when cleaning your teeth or washing our hands use only what is required.
WHEN FILLING AND BOILING YOUR KETTLE FOR WHATEVER PURPOSE, DONT OVER FILL IT, ONLY PUT IN ENOUGH WATER FOR THE PURPOSE YOU NEED IT. IF YOU HAVE SOME EXCESS, KEEP IT BOTTLED FOR USE IN YOUR IRON.
This will not only save water but will also help prelong the life of your kettle as the previously boiled water is less likely to fur up the element.
CAREFULLY PLACING AN OBJECT SUCH AS A BRICK IN YOUR TOILET CISTERN, WILL ALSO REDUCE WATER WASTAGE.
The brick or object you place in the cistern displaces enough water to reduce wastage whilst at the same time still allow your toilet to operate normally
SHOP LOCALLY - USING YOUR LOCAL SHOPS AS REGULARLY AS YOU CAN, HELPS THE LOCAL ECONOMY
Why travel to local town for essentials when you can shop at home. It may be slightly more expensive locally, but how much would the bus fare or your vehicle fuel have added to your shopping costs...?
WALK DONT DRIVE - JUST BECAUSE ITS RAINING SHOULDN'T STOP YOU FROM WALKING
If you need to travel a short distance for something that is whithin walking distance, why take the vehicle. The start / stop on your vehicle is adding wear and tear and using excess fuel which in turn is putting more damaging carbon fumes into the atmosphere, when alternatively the exercise will do you good and keep you fit.
